Kai Miller Owner/Director/Teacher
Kai was born in New York State and moved to Colorado in 2001. She began working with children in the boulder community as a childcare provider. After that she explored teaching and became a substitute teacher for traditional daycare centers in Boulder County. Then Kai found her way to a Waldorf Kindergarten and was an assistant teacher under the study of a local master teacher. She was the lead teacher for the aftercare program, and directed a summer camp in 2010. Kai then went on to teach at a school in Lyons, CO called Applesong.
Academically, Kai holds an M.A in Environmental Education from Prescott College and has completed her Early Childhood Waldorf Teacher training at Rudolf Steiner College 2013. She also earned her Director Qualification in October of 2013. Her spiritual striving has led her to become a yoga teacher and to focus on her own personal development as a human being through meditation. Kai said she believes it is her responsibility to be worthy of imitation and create a space filled with love, joy and warmth. She has two young children and when she is not teaching loves to hike and play in nature with them.
Jenny Natapow Lead teacher Lavender Hill Longmont
Jenny Natapow is a mother, naturalist, and early childhood educator with over a decade of experience teaching in the field. She holds a master’s in Nature-Based Early Childhood Education and is passionate about connecting children to the natural world. Before joining Lavender Hill, she taught pre-k at the Boulder JCC’s Forest School and was an environmental educator for the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks Department. Jenny believes in grass-stained sleeves, muddy knees, and childhoods steeped in curiosity, exploration, and wonder. When she’s not teaching, Jenny can be found hiking, gardening, and exploring with her daughter.
